Privacy policy

The short version: the FishSnapper app does not collect anything. It has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising, and it does not send your videos, photos or location anywhere.

The app

• Camera. Used to record your dive and identify fish. Identification runs on your iPhone. Video and photos stay on your phone unless you choose to save or share them.
• Photo library. Used only when you choose to save a dive video or photo to your library, or pick a video from it to identify.
• Location. Optional. If you allow it, your location is used once, on your phone, to suggest the region you are diving in so that species from that region are favoured. It is not stored as a track and is not sent anywhere. You can pick a region by hand instead.

We never receive any of this, so we cannot see it, sell it or share it.

Beta testing and the App Store

If you install FishSnapper through TestFlight or the App Store, Apple may share crash reports and any feedback you choose to submit with us, underApple's privacy policy. We use these only to fix problems.

This website

• No cookies for tracking, no analytics, no advertising.
• Contact form. Your name, email address and message are emailed to us so we can reply. We keep that email for as long as it takes to deal with your request, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
• The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP address) to deliver pages and to protect the contact form from spam using Cloudflare Turnstile. SeeCloudflare's privacy policy.

Children

FishSnapper is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
