Which phones does FishSnapper run on?

iPhone 15 Pro, or iPhone 16 and later. Identifying fish live needs a recent chip and 8 GB of memory, so older phones cannot install it.

Do I need a dive housing?

Yes, for anything beyond holding your phone over a rock pool. Use a housing rated for your depth that lets you operate the touchscreen or buttons, and follow its maker's instructions. FishSnapper is not a dive computer and is not safety equipment.

It named a fish wrongly

That will happen, especially in murky water, at a distance, or with species that look alike. After the dive, open the sighting and mark it incorrect to choose the right name. Choosing your region before the dive also helps, because the app then favours species that live there.

Does it work without a connection?

Yes. Identification runs entirely on your phone. See the privacy policy.
